Equinox MicroBar Systems
Do you want an on the go lighting solution that's easy use, compact, lightweight and friendly on the bank account? Enter the Equinox Microbars.
Who Are Equinox?
Over time, the longstanding Equinox brand has become a staple in the mobile DJ industry. Equinox offers a product range that fulfils multiple applications, including entertainers, events, exhibitions, pubs, weddings and marquees. As well as providing brilliant lighting solutions, Equinox has various other products like special effects, mirror balls, stand, and truss solutions, booths, cases, bags, controllers and fluid, to name a few. However, today we're going to be taking a look at their Multi-Micro Bar systems.
What to expect from the Equinox Microbar Systems Range
The vision for the Microbar range is for it to be a lighting solution for those on the go, such as bands, solo acts, duos, mobile DJs, entertainers etc. For example, each system is lightweight, compact, easy to set up, and supplied with a carry bag and stand. As well as this, the MicroBar systems are pre-programmed with auto-run lighting shows, making each system an all-in-one package.
What models are in the Equinox Microbar Systems range?
Firstly, the Micro Bar range features four models:
- The MicroPar Bar system (EQLED135)
- MicroBar Multi-system (EQLED136)
- MicroBar COB systems (EQLED137)
- MicroBar Multi System Reloaded (EQLED138)
The four systems have the same principle of being an all-in-one lighting solution. However, each bar features different lighting fixtures. What you'll find with each system is that they're all lightweight and easy to use and relatively hassle free.
Equinox MicroPar Bar System
The MicroPar Bar system features four micro-sized LED par panels, each with a 25-degree beam angle and twelve 1-watt RGBW LEDs. The four par cans suspend from a powered T-bar, with two additional M8 bolts on top that allow for extra fixtures.
On the back of the T-Bar is an LED screen, a four-push-button control panel, a microphone, and a three-pin XLR in and XLR out. As well as that, there is an IEC mains power output, which allows you to power another system directly from the existing one.
Depending on your needs, you can set the lighting bar to Auto run, Sound To Light, Master/Slave and Static Colours, or utilise the various DMX channels. Finally, Equinox supplies the MicroPar Bar (EQLED135) with an IR remote for wireless control, a height-adjustable stand, and a carry bag.
Equinox Microbar Multi System
EQLED136, the MicroBar Multi System, features one derby effect light containing four 3-watt RGBW LEDs and one moonflower effect light containing one 10-watt quad-colour RGBW LED. In addition, there are two par cans, each with a 25-degree beam angle and containing twelve 1-watt RGBW LEDs. The derby, moonflower and the two par cans suspend from a powered T-bar. On top of the T-bar are two additional M8 bolts for extra fixtures.

Microbar COB System
The EQLED137 Equinox Microbar COB System features four multi-colour LED par cans. Each par can contain one 20-watt tri-colour RGB LED. In addition, all four par cans have a 25-degree beam angle and suspend from a powered T-bar. On top of the T-bar are two additional M8 bolts for extra fixtures.
What are COB LEDs?
The main difference between the Equinox EQLED137 Microbar COB System and the Equinox EQLED135 MicroPar Bar system is that the Equinox Microbar COB Systse uses COB (Chip On Board) LEDs. The COB LEDs are small in size and structure yet contain multiple LED chips in one module. When lit, the numerous tightly packed light diodes produce increased lumen output over standard LEDs of the same size. The powered T-Bar features an LED screen, a four-push-button control panel, a microphone, and a three-pin XLR in and XLR out. As well as that, there is an IEC mains power output, which allows you to power another system directly from the existing one. You can set the COB Par Cans to Auto run, Sound To Light, Master/Slave and Static Colour mode, or utilise the various DMX channels.
Finally, Equinox supplies the Microbar COB System (EQLED137) with an IR remote for wireless control, a height-adjustable stand, and a carry bag for storage and transportation.
Equinox Microbar Multi System Reloaded
Last, there is the EQLED138, the Equinox Microbar Multi System Reloaded. The Microbar Multi System Reloaded is an upgraded version of the Microbar Multi System and is the apex of the Equinox Microbar series. For instance, this light bar features two pars cans, each containing three 4-watt RGBW LEDs, one derby containing four 3-watt RGBW LEDs, one laser complete with one 100-milliwatt red diode (650nM), as well as one x 30-milliwatt green diode (532nM), and lastly, one strobe bar containing six x 4-watt white and UV LEDs. In addition, the lighting fixtures have a 25-degree beam angle and suspend from a powered T-bar. Since the Microbar Multi System Relaoded implements a strobe bar on top of the powered T-bar, Equinox has done away with M8 bolt points.
Like the other lighting bars in the Equinox Microbar range, the powered T-Bar features an LED screen, a four-push-button control panel, a microphone, and a three-pin DMX in and out. Similarly, there's an Auto run, Sound To Light, Master/Slave and Static Colour mode, and you can utilise the various DMX channels. However, the IEC slave power output is not present.
Meanwhile, Equinox once again supplies the Microbar Multi System Reloaded (EQLED138) with an IR remote for wireless control, a height-adjustable stand, and a carry bag for storage and transportation.
