EVOX J9 Setup, Impact and Footprint

Available in black or white, EVOX J9 includes a lightweight aluminum-alloy pole that links the column to the subwoofer and integrates all required connections for fast setup. JMIX9 is equipped with four MIC/LINE inputs with combo connectors, high-performance THAT® preamps, (each with individual phantom power) and digital gain control. Inputs 1–4 can be linked as stereo pairs for keyboards, instruments, or playback sources. Inputs 5–8 include a stereo TRS line input and a stereo 3.5 mm input shared with Bluetooth® connectivity for audio streaming. Each input channel offers a high-pass filter, compression, and a 3-band EQ for precise tonal shaping. Internal stereo reverb with individual send levels adds professional polish to vocals and instruments.

Why have RCF created new column PA systems?

EVOX is one of RCF’s most successful product families worldwide, proven in real-world applications for more than a decade. It has become a go-to standard for DJs, small live performances, and rental inventories that need predictable results night after night, from parties to corporate events and celebrations. After the strong
response to EVOX J8, built on the winning formula of the original EVOX 8, RCF has taken the next step with a complete redesign: not only a new look, but a fully renewed electroacoustic architecture engineered to deliver a clearer, more controlled, and more consistent experience in any venue.

What does “true 3-way” mean?

In the new EVOX J Series, high frequency content is handled by a 1.75” neodymium compression driver, whilst midrange is projected forward by the 3” neodymium transducer array (6 on J9/JMIX9, 12 on J11). The low frequency content is produced from a high-power 12” woofer. The 2-channel amplifier drives the mid/high section (which embeds a passive crossover). The forward radiation of the array of 3” neodymium drivers, combined with the centered waveguide, delivers a balanced point-source response.

What DSP presets are available on the RCF EVOX J Series?

What transport/protection accessories are available for the RCF J Series?

Each EVOX system includes a padded column array transport bag. Optional accessories include half and full-length pole extensions for variable height options (black or white), and protective slip-on covers, or a trolley-style cover with wheels and a handle for the subwoofer enclosure. All RCF transport and protection accessories are crafted from premium 600D polyester, feature 10 mm foam padding and a 190T taffeta inner fabric, and are secured with a durable zip-and-Velcro closure for long-lasting reliability.

The previous EVOX had an adjustable pole; why is EVOX J9/J11
fixed?

Earlier EVOX models like the EVOX 8, J8, J12, used a column made only of cone transducers, so vertical dispersion narrowed progressively as frequency increased. In those systems, pole-height adjustment helped align the column with the audience. With the new EVOX J9/J11, eahc system utilises a True Resistive Waveguide with a controlled 40° vertical pattern combined inside the cone array, providing consistent coverage for both standing and seated listeners without requiring continuous height adjustment. For situations where the audience is significantly above or below the system’s support plane (e.g., the system on a stage, or the audience on tiered seating), optional half-length and full-length pole extensions are available to raise the array (black or white). The array can also be attached directly to the subwoofer.

Is there a difference in the audio quality between the previous EVOX 8 / J8
and the new J9?

Yes, while the design philosophy is the same, the architecture is renewed from the ground up, with more power, less distortion, improved coverage precision, and overall sound quality that is notably better.

What’s new about the internal amplification?

The 2100watt and 3500watt Class-D amplifiers deliver up to 2.5x more power than the previous architecture, with ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response, and minimal thermal buildup. The 3500watt amplifier is a new platform introduced with EVOX J11 and designed to power future products.

What is the True Resistive Waveguide (TRW), and why does it matter?

TRW is designed as a low-resonance, resistive acoustic load to reduce the harshness commonly associated with traditional horn designs, while maintaining wide, consistent coverage.

What does “constant 120° × 40° coverage” mean?

Wide horizontal coverage helps keep the mix consistent across the venue; the controlled vertical pattern helps limit spill to ceilings and reflective surfaces but at the same time is useful in clubs, event rooms, and challenging acoustics like worship spaces or reverberant rooms. The wide coverage is intended to keep the audience area evenly covered.
