RCF ART 9-AX Overview

The RCF ART 9-AX Series brings all of the characteristics and features of the original ART 9 series into an even further enhanced loudspeaker. The ART 9-AX Series adds intriguing components to the ART 9 lineup, offering a versatile and portable sound system for small to medium live sound applications. AX could be used as a primary audio system, fill, or a stage monitor and is also a true problem solver for pro audio applications, from mobile to fixed installations.

Introducing the most powerful amplifier in its class from RCF. With their latest advancements in transducer design, the amplifier has evolved to keep up. Boasting 2100 Watts of power, the 2-channel ART 9 Class-D amplifier is 50% more powerful than its predecessors. It can manage extremely high sound pressure levels with an ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response, and very low heat loss. The ART 9 is also highly energy-efficient and doesn't require a cooling fan. It's attached to a solid aluminium heat exchanger at the back of the unit, with no moving parts. The amplifier sits firmly and securely within the cabinet, connected to the internal frame. The input circuit features a new low-distortion design with an advanced safety limiter, maintaining the true character of the input signal at all levels. All ART 9 amplifiers are designed for maximum safety and have a Switch Mode Power Supply section that combines high efficiency with minimum weight.

Digital Mixer

The RCF ART 9 AX is respected for its advanced six-channel digital mixer, complete with professional tools. The mixer has a new input layout centred around the touchscreen, making navigation easy. Mono mic/line XLR combo inputs are assigned to channels 1 and 2, while channels 3 and 4 are for the 3.5-millimetre AUX input, and channels 5 and 6 are for Bluetooth streaming. This mixer is ideal for anyone who needs a top-quality sound system for events or performances.

Advanced Features

This onboard mixer unscrambles all your routing needs, and an internal crossover helps you use the speaker with any subwoofer. On the crossover setting page, you can adjust the crossover frequency alongside the subwoofer trim, delay and polarity. It also has presets for RCF subwoofers. These include the 8003-AS, 905-AS, 708-AS, 705-AS and 702-AS subwoofers.

An internal parametric EQ lets you manage boomy spaces or nasty resonance. Using the rotary control, you can adjust a high pass filter, low band, mid band and high band EQ points. Slowly turning the rotary control will result in smaller increments, while quicker turns result in larger increments. This trick works across all mixer settings. Plus, pressing and holding the rotary control will reset the parameter. The more you know!

As channels 1 and 2 are mic/line inputs, they have the same parametric EQ as found on the other channels, but with the inclusion of a compressor, pre-amp sensitivity controls, 48-volt phantom and channel linking. The main mix output page within the digital mixer features a master parametric EQ tool with six adjustable EQ points.

On the audio setup page, you can choose which channels are affected by the ducker and adjust the reverb for each channel (including changing the reverb preset). As well as this, the output delay keeps your sound always in time. 

Can I wirelessly connect one RCF ART 9-AX speaker to another?

Yes, you can wirelessly pair one ART 9-AX loudspeaker to another, which is a handy tool if you have physical constraints and can't use signal cables.

Touch Screen Display

The back of the RCF ART 9-AX loudspeakers present a 2.4-inch colour touchscreen display that allows you to adjust all speaker settings on-the-fly. There's also a single rotary control dedicated to volume and editing.

The dual-mode menu allows for fast navigation. Users can choose Easy Mode for quick and smooth setup or Advanced Mode for professional tuning and signal routing.

Can I control the ART 9-AX wirelessly?

Yes! With the introduction of the ART 9-AX Series, RCF have developed their new LiveRemote app.

With the RCF LiveRemote App, you can easily adjust the ART 9-AX mixer, DSP, FX, routing, and Bluetooth® settings. Gain complete control over the internal ART 9-AX engine, including the ability to recall and save presets, set volume levels, adjust EQ, compressors, and FX, and customize and tune your sound system.
